We All Need Quiet

Life runs and runs

Never breathing

Never stopping

Never giving us the chance to be quiet

Life is ruthless 

Life drags us along

Life has no sympathy

We all need our escape

We can work hard all day

We can try to laugh and play

But Life gives no breaks

Life just takes

So I write

To find peace

To find an escape

To find the quiet

My mind races all day

My thoughts are loud

On paper it is calm

In a poem it is quiet

We all need quiet
