We All Want Something More
we wanted something more
we wanted something great
we wanted to feel happiness
we want to breathe again.
we want to know our souls, to really get to know
the women deep inside of us that's yearning to be whole.
I wanted something more.
Please hear our ROAR,we're begging you for more
The caged up lionesses within us just ruptured through white doors.
The picket fence is gone, now it's time to play
no more vague excuses, no more guilty shame.
I wanted something more.
Enjoy the summer breeze, lay in fields of green
look up at the trees and listen to her please,
silence can deceive when in fact it's louder than we think
and If you listen closely,
you'll know exactly what we NEED.
I wanted something more.
Now our truth is known,we must stop running through back doors.
now we must be strong and know the women in our souls
I feel happy, I can breathe, no more getting on my knees
Shake my hand, pat my back, my eyes are open and out of the sand.
I will stand by your side, WE ARE WOMEN and we should have rights
towards our bodies and our minds, we can't surrender, we must fight; fight for those courage's women that hollered and shouted, got beat up and force fed because women's equality would always matter. 1777 marks a terrible date "Women lose the right to vote in New York" and that was just the first state.
the law must be justice, and it will take time,
lots of strong women to stand up and rise.
it's a great cause, and we don't mean to harm
Equal rights should not be just for some, but ALL.
We all want something more!
