We Allow These Words to Fly

We allow these words to fly So that we may feel free Free from the thoughts that provoke pain Free from anxiety and free from shame. We allow these words to fly So that we may feel enlightened Empowered by our own words And how we lace them together We allow these words to fly So that we may feel strength We are able to breathe again No longer weighed down by our own self pity I allow these words to fly So that I can feel like me My thoughts of depression no longer hold me back I am me and writing is what allows that.
