We Are

Sat, 11/04/2017 - 16:31 -- lay.yuh

We are shaped to be normal, to fit in with the crowd.

We are told to do our best to make our parents proud.

We are taught that girls can cry, but "men" can't shed a tear.

We are trained to go for perfect, there must not be a smear.

We are told to be happy, to keep our smile ear to ear.

We are told to live life to it's fullest, but we're constantly living in fear.

We are told that beauty comes from inside.

We are starting to notice that the pretty faces get eyed.

We are convinced to turn to plastic but still remained unloved.

We are told to be ourselves, but then we're scared of being judged.

We are not destined to follow the standards society assigns.

We are going to find ourselves.

To follow our hearts and minds.
