We Are Alive
Yesterday is a cancelled check,
All my troubles seemed so far away,
But yesterday is a fabric of our past.
Yesterday was a journey,
But our problems are here to stay.
Today is a hike over a mountain.
It is the only cash I have to succeed.
I’ll burn my eyes out,
I may not be able to get out.
Today is about sacrifice.
Tomorrow is a promissory note,
Some say it is never too late,
The world would have saw him as a hero,
If he had lived tomorrow,
There was a mountain of things he could have taught,
But it was too late,
And so you gotta hang on,
‘Til tomorrow and no one should be kinder or brave than tomorrow.
