We are all Clowns

I am a clown

In picture

And in the world

Yet that does not at all sway me,

No, Not at all.

In Picture, how different am I,

From some laughing face

With red and white

And comical pace.

I wear similar make up,

Apply the same dye,

I hide my face

So I won’t hear “why?”

But in this world, I am different

And also the same

I do not wear make-up,

Or ask for fame.

In this world, I am still a clown,

But only in heart,

No red or white, or faded brown.

I run, and dance, ready to start

I always laugh, and have my fun.

Jest and jump, and tell a bad pun.

So understand this:

I do not need some mask to hide

My happiest side.
