We Are All Magicians

You said you wouldn't

just disappear

but the longer I stay

the more see through you get.

I wanted to read the story in your eyes

but you haven't given me much

and I'm starting to believe you already

read me

and I was easy to put down.

but just when the curtains about close

you're the encore

and I buy all the tickets.

I'd say I'm tired of your slight of hand

and we are too grown for magic

but illusions have always been my weakness

and manipulation is my favorite trick.
