we are black

We are Black

We live in a world that burns with hatred

We look around and see our people dying

The Whites be killing

Our mothers be crying

Because of our skin, dark as night

We run away from the fight

The scared, the helpless and the weak

Can’t win the battle against this white fleet

Just because we are different colors

We don’t get treated like all the others

Whipped, chained, beaten and shot

being killed without a second thought

We are being killed no matter what age group

The streets are a blood and concrete soup

They build a white wall to keep us down

Don’t wait, do you hear that sound

It’s chanters, supporters and people who care

Love and support is what they share

Martin Luther King had a dream, but that dream

But that dream isn’t what it seems

HIs dream was for us to live hand in hand

Even though they stole us from our land

Being chased, hung, and killed for no reason

Haven’t you heard racism is out of season?

They build a wall so We don’t succeed

All we want is peace, but they want us to bleed

But we won’t let them prosper

WE won’t give up and we will never surrender

WE will not be held down

WE will not frown

WE have the power to change the world

WE are dark because the burns of racism in society

WE will endure !!!
