We are but Kernels

We are but kernels

At the bottom of a paper cage

Inscribed with the words

“this is up”

One simple instruction

One vague direction

One open ended demand

In mere minutes we are transformed

Expanding inside

Until we finally find the courage

To burst out of our shells

Only to be eaten by the world around us.
