We Are NOT ALONE

I needed to fix

I needed to plan

But not everything works out that way

Sometimes I just have to pray

And hope poetry holds out its hand

My heart knows when I write poetry that it feels better

It helps me think

Other times it helps me heal

Anger is taken away when I write

Poetry has taught me that no matter what happens

I can always count on writing to save the day

To clear my head

It's taught me that not everything is black and white

That people have a choice, opinions

They have feelings that they can express in a way they otherwise can't

Helps others see

That we

Are not alone.
