We Are Not Just Teenagers

We are not the hormones in our blood

Nor are we sex driven maniacs.

There is a method to our madness

Whether you choose to see it or not

And we are begging you to

Open your fucking eyes!

See us for who we are,

Not who you want us to be.

We are complex, we are driven,

We are hurt

By the box you confine us in.

You treat us like children,

Expect us to act like adults-

But would you still do this if you remembered that

We are responsible for your future?

To hell with those that tore us down.

To hell with those that told us we don't know what we're talking about.

We are not oblivious to your vicious judgement.

We are not oblivious to the savage lies you feed yourselves.

We suppress the thoughts engineered by your whispers-

Feed them to the ambition that you choose to ignore.
