We Are Not Theirs

WE DO NOT BEGIN AS POLICE PROPERTY, to be freed or detained based on some guy’s mood or feeling.” he wrote.....

We are not theirs... We are not of their descent.

Their hair.

Their skin...

We are not theirs

We are not the voice, the look, the “IT”.

The “IT” girl. Small, skinny, slim, and thin

We are the girl that wished....

The girl that wished....

Everything was awesome

Well... everything is awesome...

Everything is awesome as I look through my big, bold, brown eyes

Eyes that differs from theirs

We are not theirs

My eyes see their hate

Their hate that lays amongst all of these races.... or... this race

My eyes see their fear of coexisting in a society with those unlike them

So they try to destroy us as they make the nation, the land WE cultivated, into a white man’s world...

& you may ask why... But I remind you that we are not theirs

We are not small minded and weak.

We are born of kings and queens

The versatility of our hair makes them stare, YET we stand tall as they wonder HOW DARE they... They...

They hang us and laugh....

Strange fruit swinging in the summer breeze

Her eyes see the dreams of her race.

Dreams unheard because they kill us with guns and hate

We are not the voice because we are the ROAR.

The commander of the kingdom. Powerful beyond measure.

Oh yes my friend. I am reminded that everything is awesome.

My time on this earth may be gone but my voice is heard.

We Rest in Power.

Black women.

Black queen.

The kingdom is yours.

We are NOT THEIRS.
