We Are Nothing

The thing that I can't live without

is Love.

It may sound cliche, like

a penny saved

or and apple a day.

But it's so much more than that.

Love is

what keeps your heart beating when you want it to stop

what helps you breath when the world is stuffing its fist down your thought

what makes you feel safe in a minefield

what makes you want to run before you can stand.

Love isn't just

red roses and

cheap chocolate and

pathecially recited poems.

It's helping your dad cook dinner so that you can remember him when he's gone.

It's taking tea and taking movies to your friend when their sick even when they told you not to.

It's staying up for hours and hours with your sister, until she's fallen asleep

because she had a panic attack and you can't leave her without making sure that she's okay.

It's staying with your mom, even though you can't stand her, that you don't like her-

but that doesn't mean you don't love her.

Love is what makes people who we are.

We have the Taj Mahal and

Shakespeare's Sonnets and

Joy.

Without love,

We Are Nothing.
