We are People
Why is it so hard to just understand?
To be an adult and grow up,
to be open-minded and calm.
Why do people just blindly lash out at things that are new,
or never attempt to understand what someone is going through.
A friend of mine, he asked for acceptance,
I was a scared child at the time and couldn't see his pain,
his languish over being trapped.
To quote him directly:
"So what I might ask, makes us boys and girls? Why can't we just be us?"
This isn't a joke or a prank. It's not a gag to be pulled or laughed at.
The world is changing, not physically, but it's mentality,
It's the concept of living and happiness,
the intertwining of relationships as fingers in everlasting joy,
the feeling of freedom in your own skin.
How do we take this for granted?
Quarrels and queasiness,
our qualms are questioning our queries.
WHO ARE WE?
And who are we to judge?
Who are we to decide who can be who?
Why should we care in the first place?
None of this concerns us!
Unless you are the person trapped, stop deciding their fate.
We are people, not groups of minorities and majorities.
Stop the protesting, the hate, the closed minded bullshit,
"and stand,
hand in hand,
walk a mile,
not in my shoes,
but wearing my glasses,
take a look around,
from atop your high horse,
and see what I see."
