We Believe in Freedom

We who believe We who will not rest We shall not rest until freedom comes My struggles, it is realized Was a payment for the future We who believe will not rest What hurts me most? We were stolen here to the hatred We who believe will not rest We will teach our young We will give them what we do not have We who believe will not rest We will not need to gasp We will not struggle to grasp We who believe will not rest The death of blacks Will be as the deaths of whites We who believe will not rest I am a woman, I will be heard We are blacks who will be heard We who believe We who will not rest We shall not rest until freedom comes
