We Can Change This Place

Do you hear that shh, listen closely Do you hear that shhh, listen closely Do you hear that sound the sound of a homeless man begging for beer, of children crying because mommy and daddy don't wanna hear what they have say it's the price you gotta pay to grow up in a world where dreams are dead and punches are hurled where you gotta pay to see the day when you'll be happy even if your past was crappy i'm not trying to be sappy just supply you with truth apply your own youth we can change this place we just got to pick up the pace attack it face to face don't be a disgrace be an arms race we are a new generation doesn't matter if you're white, black, hispanic, or asian we're in it together, united let's make the fire burn bright the one that we lighted because dreams aren't drums they weren't meant to be beat on and we're not dumb we don't have to be treated wrong it won't take long if we awaken in song all of us, no leavin' if we put up a fight, there's not a thing we won't be achievin' you just got to believe in believe in yourself you don't need wealth to make an impact there isn't a thing that you lack we all just need to interact now that's a fact don't let yourself get smacked down don't slack now we can change this place we can change this place we just got to pick up the pace attack it face to face don't be a disgrace be an arms race we can change this place we can change this place we can change this place we just got to pick up the pace attack it face to face don't be a disgrace be an arms race
