We Did It! ¡Lo Logramos!

We did it! Lo Logramosby Christian Betancourt

In the midst of being misled by corrupted crooks

We rose above and gathered in peace

We did not play exactly by the books

We did not cause chaos and showed civility

Thru these manners, demonstrated

That we cannot be shut down by evil powers

Our voices were heard louder than a thousand lighting strikes

They try shut us down

We proved that we would not give up without a civil fight!

I commend this nation for this achievement

For standing up to many years of injustice

This freedom from corruption should bring the greatest fulfillment

Molina has resigned from office

He is now gone and in prison

He did not fulfill his true purpose

We did it! Lo logramos!

I was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. I have lived all over the US since my dad was in the Army and now reside in the border city of El Paso, Texas. Although I do not have a long time writing poetry, I really love it and hope to grow as much as I can as a poet. I am currently studying English at El Paso Community College. I also aspire to have my work published. Most of the stuff I write is on the political spectrum.
