we don't always get what we want

I wanted you to tell me that you are sorry. I wanted you to call me crying saying you had not had a drink in quite sometime because you thought it would make you less like your dad. And now you want a drink, but you really just want me. Because now that I am gone you realize that your dad is not the devil in you, you are. And I could get rid of that devil but all you do is let it out and it cannot be out because you are destroying everything. You need me and you are sorry that you were so damn rude to me and treated me so badly but that was all you knew. I wanted you to tell me that you would change the ocean tides if it would mean I was your friend again
