We Don't Want To Make It
The messed up kids are holding hands again,
Just waiting until the trouble begins.
We're just a couple of messed up kids who won't make it past twenty,
Driving too fast to escape what's boring.
Too young to have these addictions,
Self writing these prescriptions,
Far too late to change what's written.
If we could just go back to the beginning,
We would still come back to this tragic ending.
We are the ones who won't make it,
But everyday we try to fake it.
Hiding from our parents with pills and liquor,
Just trying to make the time pass quicker.
We can't escape the dark around us,
Until our parents get apologies from the police who found us.
Wake up,
Time for school.
Another day of verbal abuse,
Punching bags to be used because they are confused.
We've grown up afraid and war torn,
Aching for the innocence from when we were born.
We are wiser than our age and more broken than we should be,
But we don't know anything do we?
Because no one wants to hear anything from the couple of messed up kids,
The ones they'll probably never have to see again.
