We, the future...

The student who will be sitting where I once sat, The one who is suffocating. Not because of the homework you need to combat Nor because of the tests that have you waiting. It is because of the politician, that forty people in a tiny room. Forty-one counting the teacher in the little nation. The budget cuts set the school for doom. Public schools are dying in Philadelphia. Cutting the out food for the soul. Going down without anesthesia. Taking away funding, driving us down a hole. Building prisons instead of schools. Is that what we are destined for? To be locked up? Are they fools? To give a child an education is too much of a chore? Sadly, they believe so. All these investments in prisons, Because they don’t want us to grow Killing the future, robbing us of provisions. The fight is not over once I leave. It is going to stay and hurt, And the future will grieve Now let me be curt, We, the future, will not give up Not without a fight. In the end, we will have the cup. For they are cause of this blight
