We Had To Be Free

Because I love you...

I get the backlash, the anger, and the kindness.

This has changed me over time

the more invested the more i see the space open,

vast and fast. But I know that change is needed.

We talk by staring and slight eye movements and passive-agressive

movements. The time that we spend together seems as we are the last grain

of sand left in the hour glass.

Because I love you...

I leave you on that sinking couch that gets deeper with every sitting.

And burning everything that reminds me of you and the memories that we share.

It hurts with every step I take out that door, but it was going to feel worst staying on

that couch.

Because I love you...

I have moved on eventhough

I have lasting memories.

I wish you the best and if we ever meet again,

I hope that your journey has been wonderful and that the couch has stiffened over time.

Because I love you...

I set us free.
