We had found each other
We had found each other in November's heat
Ready to make a scene
It was the sound of December Drum Beat
That brought us to our feet
It was not obscene
We were dancing not commiting a sin
The rain had not fallen that year
The gods where the ones commiting a sin
The heat was more than we could bear
Without water our crops had failed
Defeat was all the elders cold hear
Us the children danced our hunger away
Our own sweat quenched out thirst
We had nothing worry or fear
Dance till it rains
Wash away your pains
By the rain dance.
