We Have Downgraded

We have downgraded Unfortunately, to manmade truths Known as lies Filling our ears with verbal abuse That bitter sweet taste of sin Spoken wrath that eventually kills our men Pain supposedly good for our feelings Forgetting the ending result of what it will bring Tainting our skin with colorful creations To spark up weak conversations Covering our bodies with ink Refusing to be recognized as the weakest link They say we reflect the written proverbs However, we abuse the use of his natural herb Scriptures translated into a bigger picture We continuously fail to live by. Like the damaged lungs from the smoke We wear them, bare them within It’s true; God said we were born into sin But we could be washed and made pure again But we continuously pollute our temples. Instead of offering our bodies as a living sacrifice We embody what others choose and not Christ We speak death and not life We show our shy-from-the-sun-parts and not our true light Since when did being an example -- of His good works Turn into being samples -- of the Devil’s dirt? You all are truly hand picked A holy nation, chosen generation Though it seems to be a world of confliction Where one is addicted to the ideas of addictions Redemption comes with the price of unwanted convictions With souls constantly stricken Carrying bricks of affliction On shoulders that are anxious to be lifted. But can you let Him upgrade you? See, I am a miracle and He’s brought me through He said “I am that I am” With Him, I could, I will, and I forever can Stand with me, in spirit and in truth Take on the whole armor of God Be a witness to what he will make proof
