We Have a Friend

You’ve been by my side from the start

From the very first moment you stole my heart

You have always been by my side

And have always been my guide

We were close as close could be

Couldn’t be parted by the sea

We were never apart from each other

Blood by blood brother

Trust and honesty

A life or death policy

It’s what keeps us afloat

What allows us to cope

It’s not always easy

It’s not always fun

There are days we fight like crazy

And it seems what we had is done

But mending is what we do

It’s what makes me me and you you

Nothing can separate us

Not even death

We have something more than trust

We have a friend
