We Killed Each Other.
Your strong and beautiful hands reeled me in like a fish who knew its destiny.
My lips drowned you in your sorrows
I gave you the chance to flee; you gave me a headstart.
The devil felt when we were together, he smiled and laughed at the sight of us in each others arms.
Sweetheart,
How could we have known that we would lead each other down a dark path?
Mama warned you about me, but like all the other boys you never listened.
I prayed for you, because I love you.
You prayed for me, because you love me.
I failed to realize that no matter how many times we prayed,
the bruises would not disappear from our bodies.
That day I started that fight,
I killed our future, you killed our hopes and dreams.
Everyone said that the two of us would be the "IT" couple,
"There goes Jay and Jo, they that power couple ya'll , ain't nobody gonna tear
them apart." It is safe to say that we tore each other up.
I took the hunting knife you keep in your truck and I drove it into where it hurt the most.
You took my pocket knife and engraved your name, it seeped through my skin and is engraved into my heart
My love, we were like the moon and the sun; I guess that was the problem,
one of us was constant while the other would change phases every night.
I killed our life, because I love you.
You killed our dreams because I love you.
