We live in this judgmental world

Where you must be thin and pretty,

Only to feel accepted and to fit in.

We live in this fake world

Where everyone is back stabbed

by their closest friends,

for no reason, only for revenge.

We live in this hungry world

Where kids are on the streets begging for a meal,

Just to get through another gut-wrenching day.

We live in this abusive world

Where an angry husband beats on his wife

And we call that a healthy life?

We live in this self-righteous world

Where enough is never enough

Your best will never do,

And your success is never obtained.

We live in this addictive world

Where drugs and alcohol are treated like candy

And the constant craving never ends.

We live in this lonely world

Where a young girl is going through depression,

And suicide rates are quickly rising.

Our world is corrupted,

Open your eyes,

And find those in need.

The sun will set,

The sun will rise.

Darkness brings light

When we take a stand and work together.
