We made it

I made it Through the tears and heartbreaks I made it From those cold days and dark nights I made it From the abuse and fear Those hungry, restless nights I made it No more running no more begging No more fighting no more yelling Because I made it But I didn’t make It alone… no I made because of you You took me away from the abuse and fear Of being alone, of not seeing tomorrow That’s why I made it I made it because you cared Because you didn’t see a helpless little girl Instead, a beautiful young lady with so much to offer That’s why I made it You brought me to a home filled with loving, caring people That’s why I made it You pushed me, encouraged me, helped me You showed me how much the world has to offer That I’m not alone, that there’s nothing to fear That’s why I made it I stand here with confidence and a huge smile on my face because of you So thank you for being the reason why I am here We made it
