We Made It

Over 400 years in the makin’ and here we stand in 2013 I saw you on the Internet shaking hands with the Baltimore Ravens Every last one towering over you like a giant But this is DC and not New York 6 foot 5 and above 250 to 300 pounds of muscle stand at your mercy Gazing upon you in shock You stand 6 foot 1 Weighing about a buck 80 But they respect you The presence you present is a present to these men You are what we as a people stand for It does not matter how good of a job you did or are doing What matters is you made it Slaves wildest dreams were to simply be free Even then they could not fathom that thought Had you done what you did during those times The number of slave deaths would have skyrocketed Not from being killed, but from heart attacks from the sight of you running the entire country I don’t understand politics and I don’t think I ever will But I look upon you and see strength within that I only wish I could have I salute to you Mr. Barack Obama
