We Made It

Childhood was a time where imagination soared,

A time when we were never bored.

We lived our lives with joy in our hearts,

And each new day had its own golden start.

We would sit and play our days away,

Learning as we went, even if the days were gray.

There were hundreds of things to see and do,

Guided by an endless sky of bright, glowing blue.

“Reach for the stars,” we heard them say,

And that we did, in our own unique way.

Now here we go, nearly full grown,

To our next stage of life, that we wish to postpone.

However, we all must move on,

For the blank pages of our story need to be drawn.

It won’t be easy, that we know,

But with time we will be sure to grow.

So to the children we all once knew,

Look what we’ve done…

We made it through.
