We Make Sense

You stumble

And trip

All over your words

You stumbled

And tripped

All over my heart

You're effortlessly messy

You

And your wild hair

You

And your ripped jeans

You

And your old shoes

You and me

Just make sense

And I would've put up a fight

If I had a better defense

But you give me no reason

To not love you

And so

That's what I'm going to do

Starting tonight

You had your heart

Broken and torn in two

She was no good

No good to you

She left you used

And bruised

She made you feel

Numb and empty

You locked your heart away

But now

You're saying things

You forgot to say

You're feeling things

You didn't know you could

You're finally moving on

And you ran

All the way to me

You ran twenty miles

In the pouring rain

To kiss me

Kiss away the pain

We're meeting

In the middle

Where we were always meant to

You

And your flannels

You

And your dirty hands

You

Your making sense to me

Thick through

All the confusion

I live in

You're coming in

Loud and clear

You're here

And now I feel okay again

So keep kissing me

By surprise

Keep me on my toes

By falling more in love with me

No one would ever know

Or guess

You and I

Make total sense

Just keep moving in

Keep getting under my skin

I'm loving you

More then I want to

But I don't mind

Not tonight

Because tonight

It makes sense

You and I

The messes we are

We make total sense
