We Once Knew

He barely touches the ground There is something he knows that I never taught him, I feel I remember somehow. Before we were worn down by pain, Before someone told us we’re wrong, Before it all looks the same, And our suffering days go on for too long We knew something There’s a beautiful thing that through every child shows That lies sometimes hidden even in hearts that cry for home. I love that I get to see it again.
