We as People

We, as people, are blessed.

Blessed with nature,

Blessed with life.

A world of inspiration

Of joy and spite.

We have our beautiful skies, our sparkling waters.

The darkness of taverns, The depths of the sea.

We have so many mysteries we have yet to discover.

There is so much potential in what we could be.

The human mind is endless.

It’s free.

Yet despite our potential

We all sit there

With brains going numb,

Slowly growing dumb,

Contributing nothing to our society

And throwing away our time.

Just imagine it.

A world where we stopped using the internet

As often as we do.

Our addiction in control,

Something long overdue

You say the web is helpful,

And I agree,

But not when you’re

Spending every second you’re free.

 Now, take a second,

Just a few,

Count the time

You have used

To do something in your life

That was meaningful to you!

And I’m not talking about

The number of followers

I am talking about

All the seconds, all the minutes, all the hours

You spent incorporating to improve your life

In any possible way

Any single little thing to make

Your tomorrow a better day.

The web is ruining,

Rebuilding,

And renewing, us

A new form of life.

A new form of joy.

A new form of spite.

Who needs originality?

It's all mediocrity!

Out with the old

In with the new

Not enough time

And so much to do.

We, as people, are cursed.

Cursed with nature.

Cursed with life .

A world of exasperation

Of joy and spite.

Who needs beautiful skies

and sparkling waters?

Who needs the darkness of taverns

And depths of the seas?

Why bother solving mysteries yet to discover?

Why bother with potential in what we can be?

Who cares that the human mind is endless?

Who cares that it's free?

Do you?

Do you even care?

Do you care to make this world better and new?

Then wake up,

Step up.

Take the chance

Go ahead, take the dare.

Leave your mark on the world.

Prove to our society that you care.
