We Shouldn't Talk Anymore

I’m miserable and I’m going through the motions,
But what happens when the rhythmic ocean waves beat me against the rocks?
Am I still supposed to insist that I love the rocks?
Should I still pretend that I forgive the waves?
Or do I drag myself, battered and bleeding, up to the beach,
And finally decide to leave?
