"We Waited" By: Nellie

I've longed for this moment, for a very long time.

My love, a whole 24 hours again with you on my mind.

Finally seeing you, I smile as you do.

Seeing those gorgeous eyes that I sink into that are a crystal blue.

I run up to you with a giant embrace,

and you hold me and cup your hand on my face.

"I love you," you say, staring deep in my eyes.

You placed that kiss on me, the one you so descriptively romanticize.

I lose myself but your security is strong.

Being with you, my love, I don't care, everything can go wrong,

for we waited for this moment, we both have I'm sure,

with open minds, open hearts and souls that are pure.

As you let me go, we take a long walk,

we laugh, fool around , and just talk.

No intentions of intimate actions, just talk about things.

Of our future, contained with love, stability, and of our future wedding.

"My love, I have fallen for you, tell me again you love me."

Suddenly, you stopped in your tracks, and stared at me blindly.

I'm noticing something,my love, your body's changing.

Your beautiful blue eyes are now grey and are similar to aging.

"Don't go! , please stay with me, please!"

But slowly, your body shifted to the dark with such ease.

I twist and turn just to reach for your hand-

but into the dark you go, I am here, but can no longer stand.

My eyes opened wide, I lay there in silence.

Not sure what to do, I long for your guidance.

Suddenly, the world turned black, the world was leaving.

I opened my eyes, and I realized I had been dreaming...

I lay there in bed, as tears filled my eyes,

I toss my pillows and blankets, out of rage with loud cries.

You are 2,000 miles away to tell the truth, the reality..

but I left to learn, to gain experience and get opportunity.

T'was my decision why I left, but you are still "Mine."

Half a year has gone by, our anniversaries, and our time.

As I calm down, I realize what we promised.

"Knowing us we'll make it work," we made that promise before August.

I regather my thoughts, yet tears still flow and flow..

you not being here, oh it hurts me so.

But I realize, I can see you my love,  I can and I will.

Once night comes, and the world is still.

My love, we are fine, and we will be alright,

when I see you, in my dreams, my love, tomorrow night.
