We Were Just Wineskins in the Smoke

We were just wineskins in the smoke We became oppressed by the smoke in our lives And started to become cracked Become brittle We did not realize it But the good in us started to drip through our seems From one act of disobedience we started pouring Until we found that we were just an empty shell Just and empty canvas Doomed to hell That’s when Jesus came in He showed us we did not have to try to patch ourselves up But instead gave us a whole new skin Filled with a new Spirit Now the smoke still oppresses us But we don’t care We are His wineskins Everything else does not seem to matter We were just the wineskins in the smoke Now we are His wineskins Now we have a purpose for our lives in the midst of smoke We can help other empty skins see that They can come to Him And get also filled Get a whole new outlook Now we all are waiting Until the day we meet the maker of our skins And spend eternity with Him
