Wealth of the Spirit

It was told that a leader of many

Would not see the morning moon.

That the giver of plenty,

Would die too soon.

Today, he decides to live alongside The Light’s curse.

Life given at birth, for all of his wealth and purse.

In this land,

It is wealth that rules all.

A prodigy with this flaw

Will surely miss his call.

Nevertheless, he continues his mission.

Working alongside the poor with nothing but a vision.

Rising from the dust

Comes a King of the people!

From below the bridge,

To under the steeple.

Monetary wealth is surely repressing,

But our King decided to turn his curse into a blessing.
