Wear and Tear
I wish I could see my father,
I miss him but he can be such a bother,
I wouldn’t say I’m glad he’s gone,
It’s just my mother,
She’s been so down and depressed,
But he’s gone to save the oppressed.
I wish I could see my wife and son,
I feel like he just ignores me more and more,
I feel I bore him till there’s no more,
I think he hates me for leaving him and his mom,
But I had no choice now I’m depressed lost in distress,
My husband has been shipped,
Now my mental health has been chipped,
He left our family,
Now all I know is profanity.
I don’t hate him but he needs to draw a line,
Okay fine he has been hard on me to help me prepare,
It’s so unfair,
He risks his life so I have mine,
He might die in that field of trajectory,
Then we got the letter of miss directory…
I am lost and alone,
I wish we had a real phone,
Our families back at home,
Our body getting eaten to the bone.
While we are beaten by some syndrome.
I didn’t think it’d hurt me,
All I know is my insanity,
I am my own worst enemy,
Driven by hate,
This mustn’t be families our fate.
Yeah I may have been mad at my dad,
But I only wish that I hadn’t been so bad,
Been so bad with back talk and how I tend to slack,
All I know is he’s MIA at least not KIA…
All our regiment is finding our way,
Now what we’ve found is a bay,
Now we know where we are,
And maybe soon we’ll be stuck behind bars,
Cars,
There they are,
They’ve spotted us...
He was lost at war,
Four,
That’s how many letters we got,
But now we know he was shot,
I’m losing my mind,
All this grind,
It’s tearing me apart,
Now I have a broken heart.
Yesterday I missed the bus,
I was lost in grief and I can’t help but weep,
We got another letter he may be KIA…
My father’s gone but his legacy must live on.
They looked at us then BANG!
I could feel the pang,
I knew I’d be gone.
Oh no! My son Shawn,
I treated him like a pawn,
Used him even abused him,
I don’t know if he’ll care,
But I made an oath a swear.
My psychotic break lead me to the final shake,
I am so depressed there is nothing left,
I can’t live on knowing that he is gone...
My father is dead,
they found his body ten shots to the head,
For the past two weeks I’ve stayed in bed,
I refuse to leave my room,
I’m not glad he’s gone but my mom,
Then she screamed and took her life in our home…
Now she left me too,
No reason or hope,
Now balancing on a thin tight rope,
Almost went into foster care,
But I was bailed by family,
My Grandmother,
I gotta love her,
Provides me with everything,
But there was nothing for me to bring,
I will provide when she is old and weak,
I will treat her better,
I will not disrespect her.
