The Weather

They thought it was nothing.

I told them I was just feeling under the weather,

though the temperature was higher than my mood would ever be.

My dad asked me if the weather would be nice today,

I shrugged and told him I wasn't sure,

because I wasn't.

Recently, my mom noted a good change in the weather,

I smiled and thought of all of the reasons for good weather,

the blue skies, his laughter, the sunshine, his smile.

Growing up, I always thought the weather

was nothing more than a bunch of guesses,

but once I met him, I knew it was anything but.

Once I met him,

I never felt under the weather,

but rather I felt

higher than the clouds.

I used to be jealous of the clouds,

they didn't have to deal with the weather.

Now, I'm not even seeing them,

all I see is the stars in his eyes.

I'm simply a girl who isn't afraid to speak her mind; though often in the form of her tumblr or poetry. I'm a sophomore, who seems to spend more time writing a trillion things than sleeping anymore.
