Weather

I have a weird belief,
I do.
It’s about the weather;
What it tells me about me and you.
It gives simple moments significance,
It turns a plain talk
Into a long walk,
Such moments receive adjectives that not only describe the sky,
But they describe you.
That night we sat in the car,
Skies roaring, rain pouring.
I look at you,
Your mood, like the sky;
Dark blue.
Such a monumental moment as that,
Dare I say,
May not have such significance without that sound that I hear so clearly,
The sound of angry beads of rain meeting the roof of your car.
Then there’s moments of light,
Seeing the bright sun meet your skin.
Moments of cold,
That winter breeze on the bridge that brought us so close to one another.
Moments of warmth,
The heat of the summer sun beating down on us in days to come.
You’re not a fan of the cold,
But where would we be had it not forced us side by side on that slide?
I’m not a fan of the heat,
And the heat has done nothing for us, but I’ll still give it a chance.
Now,
While these aren’t things we notice at first glance,
When we give it some thought,
We see what the weather has taught;
Without it,
would we have Bird Box?
Probably not.
No TP talks,
No scenery walks,
No wind blowing,
And no hair flowing.
And for that,
I’d like to thank you, weather.
Thank you for allowing me of all people such moments,
Moments like no other.
Moments so uniquely perfect for me and my lover.
Moments that I not only remember,
But because of you,
I feel.
I hear.
I see.
Thank you weather.
