Weather Woman

Dear K,

You are a novel

I am not ready

To write

But i know how it begins

Today it rained for the first time

This fall

And I wanted to tell you about it.

From the first drop that hit my windshield

I wanted to text you that it was coming.

To tell you to look for wind

Becuase all I can see are trees blowing.

And hear the rain as I fall asleep
And it is crisp

And I want to share it.

I want to share it with you.

Like I did last fall

When I would whisper

That there was supposedly a storm coming,

And think of you if it came and

Think of you if it didn’t

I guess I thought of you

all the time:

When it rained

When I thought it might

But the strongest assosciaton I have

is within my sheets

With the rain on my right

And night winding down

And you on my mind.

Sincerly a weather watcher,
