Weathered Emotions

Because a week ago this poem was titled "I love you"

And I called you sunshine

And her clouds

Because you were this light eminating from heaven

And when she was gone you were even more vibrant.

But I was wrong

You are more like humidity:

The price I payed to live in the tropics

And now I am stuck on this beautiful island

With no money for a one-way plane ticket out of here

And I don't go outside because I am afraid of feeling those rays of sun

Knowing it was never you.
