A Web of Regret

A broken promise

Etched, a violent sketch

Of hurt and hatred

Trying to forget

Trying to drown

A mistake

The sharp pull of pain

A siren calling further down

The stitching together

Never quite so complete

A deep red reminder

Losing count to stop losing sleep

The darkness of night taunting

Days that torment until end

Because it's hard to heal

Oh how hard it is to mend

When your mind the demon

At the tunnel's end.
