Wedding's Ghost
A jeweled veil and a lacy dress,
All for looks as no one said yes
A wedding cake without a groom on top
She celebrates anyways, as in her dreams
If only things weren't bursting at the seams!
Where is her other half, where is her loving mate?
Where is her love, so true? Why does she get such ugly fate?
She wants what she doesn't have! Oh, she craves all that she's lost!
She tried to become a good wife, yet at what cost?
Her soul is broken, just like the cake
As the knife slowly cuts into its base
She should have shoved it in someone's face
Yet everyone left her, leaving no love trace
She eats it herself, smiling outside
Inside, she's wanting to die
Shiny, red scars line her arm
Leftover debris from the storm
Why are things the way they are?
Can no one see all that she has?
Surely, someone could love her right,
Yet she sees no one in sight
She feels she is destined to a forever alone,
She fears true love is something she'll never know
She longs to feel a love so true
Yet all she has is her heart in ruins
