Wedge Boulders

Weight of the world on our shoulders And to think our favorite line was “I can’t wait to get older!” From best friends to now cold shoulders From every weekend to no invites over In each other lives that life is over Thought we held each other down Like wedge boulders In a river which seemed not even water could come between Not friends more like family But come to think about it they’ve seemed to have even faded heavily It’s a dog eat dog world and relationships turn pedigree Even in the same room the distance is felt tremendously The bridge is on life support it’s its hanging on desperately And to make matters worse I don’t think it’ll make it You tell yourself you gave it a good run let’s face it And you’re ready to pull the plug Because in the waiting room you’re starting to lose patience The tension so thick you can cut a slice and taste it Some years go by and you see each-other’s faces You catch up and start to get back to the basics
