Wednesday

I remember

When my mom loved me.

I thought she'd always love me.

But she didn't.

I thought she'd always be there for me.

But she wasn't.

I was so young,

And so was she.

I couldn't blame her;

She made a mistake.

I remember

Thinking I could fix her mistake

On a Wednesday.

But I was stopped before I could

On that Wednesday

I was stopped

because I am loved.

Not by her,

But that's okay

Because I realized

that that was her mistake.

I was never the mistake.
