weep

I have these moments where I want to weep,

but I don’t weep

I know it’s healthy and cathartic

but my eyes simply sting

and I shallow hard

and my jaw quivers

and in your reality I am weak

and in mine I am strong

I just want to weep

to let the feelings unexpressed by these words

to feel free to be

I’m not afraid that people will see

I just want to weep.

Weep with love and passion and pain and confusion and anger and desperation and perseverance so strong it leaves a mark like a rope tied a little too tight -

or that one hair tie you wore around your wrist during recovery

I just want to weep away all the things I need to move past

I want to weep like every tear brings me closer to salvation

I want to weep like every sob brings me closer to happiness

i want to weep like every dry heave brings me closer to the life I’m meant to lead.

I want to weep.
