Weeping Days

I often look back At old papers of mine Where tears dot the page And smudge every line Silly, is it not How, forgotten now, those Infinitesimal thoughts Were once infinite woes? And who is to blame For that tear or this Escapes me now no matter Length of reminisce Strangers now, those men Were once insensitive boys Who passed 'round my heart Like a novelty toy Since then I have locked it Put it safely away Though it longs for the air Of those weeping days There I endeavour to keep it And there it will stay Lest by the smear of a page It recalls weeping days
