The Weight of the World

A heavy weight sits on my shoulders.

At times it feels like two huge boulders.

Sometimes it's big.

And sometimes it's small.

Sometimes I don't think I can carry it all.

But then I look up, look up to the sky.

And see a light so bright that it blinds my eyes.

It gives me hope.

It gives me a purpose.

And somehow I know that the struggle is worth it.

The weight of the world, some cannot carry.

Although they try hard, they stumble and fall.

For this was the truth for a girl named Mary.

Who could not carry the weight and ended it all.

A heavy weight sits on my shoulders.

But I know that I am not alone.

For a man once moved a giant boulder.

And rose from a grave hidden in a stone.

It is he who helps me carry this weight.

The weight of the world that sits on my shoulders.

I know I will not have to endure forever.
