Welcome

As they drive by they stare

But never stop to care

Judging you while they pass

Wondering what you’re doing there

What’s your story?

But what’s there’s?

Full of assumptions

With little proof of the truth

The world is burning

And it’s starting with you

Welcome to the world I’m living in

I welcome it to you

Preoccupied but able to judge

As they give nothing about you

But think that they know you

Your life story

What brought you to that curb

What tore your life down

To that small fragment of anything

Unable to be repaired

The world is burning

And it’s starting with you

Welcome to the world I’m living in

I welcome it to you

The version of this reality is skewed

Abandonment, pain, and sorrow

Mourn those of the less privileged

Struggling to make any progress

Is the fight against madness

What the less privileged must endure

The world is burning

And it’s starting with you

Welcome to the world I’m living in

I welcome it to you
