Welcome, Eager Eyes

I stood there, In the front of the room. No one knew I was there, But then again they did too. They saw my face, Yet looked right past me. Their eyes focused on me, But not really seeing. I was on a stage. A stage of peers. Against all odds, I swallowed my tears. Only a young age, Yet standing so tall. I wondered when they'd look away. If they even did at all. As I stood there, Along with my friends. Friends I've known for years, Will be here till the bitter end. It's a simple thing, To stand here with them. Waiting, pondering, When I'll see them again. I heard my name, So I begin to move, "This is it," I thought. "It's the start of something new." Still very young, Yet standing so tall. The world is watching, As I watched the world fall.
